About this Event
Why was this group created?
Breastfeeding can be a wonderful experience for both moms and babies. Breast milk is nature’s food designed specifically for babies. Breastfeeding has many benefits for moms and babies, helping reduce allergies, ear and respiratory infections, childhood obesity and SIDS. Breastfeeding also helps to prevent womens’ cancers and type 2 diabetes. We welcome you to our support group.
What can we do for you?
- Provide breastfeeding education both during pregnancy and postpartum
- Provide support and assist with breastfeeding challenges such as latch technique and building supply
- Give information on pumping and breast milk storage
- Support breastfeeding continuation after returning to work
What do we also provide?
- Celebration of breastfeeding successes
- Emotional support, with the help and assistance of a certified lactation counselor (CLC) and IBCLC and fellow moms, we help and support each other on the breastfeeding journey

Adama has taken care of mothers and babies for 20 years as an RN. Although she has assisted new mothers with breastfeeding throughout her entire career, she officially joined the lactation team a couple of years ago as a certified lactation consultant. Her goal is to provide a safe, inclusive and comfortable environment for all those mothers who desire to breastfeed.

Our breastfeeding support group is for new mothers and their babies. The group is free of charge to join and participate, all we ask is for you to register.
