Course Description:

2026 Neurological and Neurosurgical Emergency and Critical Care (NNEC) Symposium is the inaugural continuing medical education (CME) conference as part of annual medical education series at Atlantic Health, directed by Dr. Kiwon Lee, MD, FACP, FAHA, FCCM, Chair of Neurology at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center and Director of Stroke and Neurocritical Care Programs at Atlantic Health. It is one-and-a-half-day CME course focused on how to resuscitate patients with life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical emergencies including neurotrauma, status epilepticus, brain herniation, CNS infections, brain tumors with severe edema and severe ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. Program contents will be divided into multiple sessions each with its own medical and surgical lectures pertinent to the session. There will be a main session as well as multiple, concurrent satellite sessions to provide hands-on and interactive workshops. Academic leaders in the field of neurology and neurosurgery who are renowned internationally will be invited as keynote speakers and many internal faculty physicians and surgeons will speak in their fields of expertise. The conference will be highly interactive and cover up to date and cutting-edge medical topics. The purpose of the symposium is to promote advocacy and education of neurocritical care for saving patients’ lives by providing cutting-edge medicine and surgery.
