Learning Objectives:
After participation, the learner should be better able to:

Assess the needs of a critically ill patient, identifying the most pressing problems Discuss which diagnostic test is necessary for various clinical scenarios Recognize subtle changes in a patient's condition and respond appropriately, potentially preventing further deterioration Apply strategies on how to recognize life-threatening conditions and initiate appropriate interventions, including basic life support and advanced airway management

A current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is required. This two-day Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course is intended for healthcare professionals who may need to respond to cardiovascular emergencies, including emergency, intensive care and critical care personnel. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider trains participants to promptly recognize life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This certification course is for any healthcare professional including doctors, nurses, student nurses, physician assistants, dentists, paramedics or EMTs.

Breast milk is nature’s food designed specifically for babies. Breastfeeding has many benefits for moms and babies, helping reduce allergies, ear and respiratory infections, childhood obesity and SIDS. Breastfeeding also helps to prevent womens’ cancers and type 2 diabetes.

Breast milk is nature’s food designed specifically for babies. Breastfeeding has many benefits for moms and babies, helping reduce allergies, ear and respiratory infections, childhood obesity and SIDS. Breastfeeding also helps to prevent womens’ cancers and type 2 diabetes.

Tuesday Group with a Lactation Consultant

Our lactation team has 30+ years plus of combined experience with lactation. The group provides Mom, baby and support person the tools needed to succeed at breastfeeding. Our consultants are part of the Atlantic Health team and you may have met them during your hospital stay. Our team is dedicated and passionate about centering breastfeeding around the individual family needs.

If you would like a brief complimentary facility tour with a member of our non-clinical team, they are avilable on Mondays. There will not be an opportunity to ask clinical questions on the complimentary tours.

Begin with a Q& A session with an experienced maternity nurse followed by a tour of triage labor and delivery, and maternity areas.

Please note: To ensure the safety and comfort of our inpatient mothers and newborns, we cannot accomodate childdren on the tour. Should you arrive with children, we will ask you to reschedule and register for a future tour.

If you would like your children to experience the maternity unit, we invite you to sign up for our sibling class, offered twice a year in April and October. Thank you for your understanding.
